For the sources we tried to open ourselves, we also note how they behave — some refuse automated requests, some work only in a browser, and one exists in print only. Where we have not checked, we say nothing rather than guess.

When we write about a plant's traditional use, we start here — not in a search of scientific studies. Classical sources such as the Charaka Samhita, Dongui Bogam or Avicenna's Canon are not indexed in biomedical databases and never will be, so zero results there is no evidence that a tradition has nothing to say.
We publish the list and the links, not the content of the sources. Where a translation is under copyright, we state the fact in our own words with a reference — never verbatim text.
